We're shining the spotlight on one of the most groundbreaking series of LCD televisions on the market today: Samsung's 81 Series of LCD HDTVs.
Samsung's 57" LNT5781FX, just one example, is a top-of-the-line set that employs an exciting new backlight system that enables the set to produce deeper, richer colors than traditional LCDs.
The technology is Samsung's SmartLighting LED system, which allows the LNT5781FX to switch on and off select parts of the backlight LED lights, eliminating the "light leakage" which would otherwise produce too-bright blacks and other dark tones.
Some of the latest additions to Sony's revered Bravia series of LCD HDTVs are setting a new standard for home theater technology.
The new model KDL-46W3000, along with other sets in Sony's Bravia W Series, feature Advanced HDMI v1.3 which enables it to operate x.v.Color technology, which displays roughly twice the number of colors as common HDMI.
Plus, the TV's Deep Color input, coupled with the KDL-46W3000's 10-bit video processor, will show 64x the colors as standard 8-bit processors.
