Samsung's 650 Series of LCD HDTVs pack an enormous amount of the latest video and audio technologies into a package that already has the AV community salivating.
One such drool-worthy model is LN46A650Ax, which promises 46 amazing inches of LCD displaying 120Hz video processing that is about as smooth as you can get on an LCD TV today.
Plus, when you factor in the LN46A650A's super-fast 4ms pixel response time and the nearly imperceptible lag time that goes along with it, this new Samsung model would appear, on paper at least, too good to be true.
Like the LNT4671F, the LN46A650A features Samsung's "Super Clear Panel" but it appears that the effect on the 650 series sets is slightly more subdued.
And unlike many LCDs on the market today, the LN46A650A boasts 4 HDMI inputs, giving you more than enough of the highest-quality connections for your HD components.
One unique feature of Samsung's 650 series of LCD TVs is the "Touch of Color" enhancements around the display frame. Also featured on Samsung's new plasma models, the subtle coloring is purely for aesthetic purpose and a matter of taste -- you may appreciate the flair it adds to the set, but if you don't, it shouldn't detract from your viewing experience.
Potential buyers of the LN46A650A should be aware that some consumers are reporting strange shut-off issues and have reported these issues to Samsung. But as those problems seemed to happen to some of the first sets to roll off the production line, let's hope Samsung has figured out the problem (if there is one) and has made the necessary adjustments.
Such rolling improvements are not uncommon in the production of televisions, or any other consumer products for that matter, but it's worth inquiring whether the model you're purchasing wasin the first batches that came from the factory or a more recent build.
