Sony KDL46XBR5 46" BRAVIA XBR series LCD Flat Panel HDTV

The KDL46XBR5, from the new SBR5 Series from Sony's BRAVIA line-up of LCD HDTVs, represents a significant step forward in LCD technology.

Perhaps most notable is the addition of Sony's Motionflow 120hz high frame rate processing. This allows the KDL-46XBR5 to insert 60 additional frames between the 60 traditional frames of video from most source material, making fast-moving images more fluid than ever.

The KDL46XBR5's Motionflow also greatly reduces artifacts that can occur during inferior video signals, allowing you to see great detail even while watching standard resolution movies or television.

Also added to the KDL46XBR5 is Sony's Digital Reality Creation MultiFunction v2.5. This feature will upconvert lower resolution signals, such as 720p and 1080i, in order to optimize picture quality on the KDL-46XBR5's 1920 x 1080 pixel display.

Another plus in the KDL46XBR5's favor: Sony's Theater Mode, which was developed with engineers from Sony Pictures Entertainment. This feature automatically adjusts the display to show compatible Blu-Ray discs and DVDs as the film makers intended for them to be seen.

Also important to note is the KDL46XBR5's 10-bit video processing, which delivers 64 times the color expression as the 8-bit systems available on most LCD sets on the market.
