Toshiba REGZA 32HL67U 32" 720p LCD HDTV
When you're doing a comparison of the leading LCDs on the market -- the Samsung, Sharp Aquos and Sony XBR sets being chief among them -- be sure to include one of the rising stars on the LCD scene: the Toshiba Regza line.
In particular, the 32HL67U offers a number of features to please a home theatre buff, including 720p high definition resolution, Toshiba's PixelPure digital video processing, and a response time of 8 ms, which puts it at the high range of sets in its class.
Like most LCDs these days, the Regza 32HL67U is shattering the stereotype that LCDs lost too much brightness and clarity if you didn't look at them head-on. Toshiba boasts a 176-degree view for the 32HL67U.
Is this the right size HDTV for your room? Standard calculations suggest that the viewing distance between set and seat should be roughly 3x to 5x the screen width. By this measure, the 32HL67U (and any 32" set) would be ideally viewed from around eight to ten feet away.
Other impressive features of the 32HL67U include a good variety of options for inputs (3 HDMIs, 2 ColorStream HD component, 1 PC, 1 S-video and 2 AV) and a sleek design that marries aesthetics to funcitionality.
And don't forget sound. The Toshiba 32HL67U impresses in the audio department as well, with Toshiba's unique StableSound system that regulates volume across a variety of sources, plus SRS 3D, TruBass, and Focus sound expanding to create movie theatre-like sound in your own home.
